Kathmandu Valley Trekking

Kathmandu Valley TrekkingOften termed as ‘the heart of Nepal’, Kathmandu valley is an ensemble of rich art, culture and natural beauty at its best. The valley is home to six UNESCO World Heritage sites that lie scattered around the valley like jeweled confetti. The seven include the Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka, Patan and Bhaktapur, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Boudhanath and the Hindu temple of Pashupati and Changu Narayan.

However, during this trek we will be hiking to various exotic places such as Chisapani, Nagarkot, and Dhulikhel which offers a rich insight into lives, history, culture and religion of its inhabitants. The hike passes through the watershed forests of Shivapuri (2729m) the highest point of the trek. We can enjoy the panoramic views of almost 60 peaks from here, some of which are Manaslu, Gaurishankar, Langtang Ranges, Ganesh Himal and so on. In brief the trek takes you along the rims of the Kathmandu valley offering distant views of snowy mountains, and an idea of typical country side life coupled with ethnic cultures.

Kathmandu Valley is an ensemble of former three separate kingdoms – Patan, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu, these cities were united in the 18th century to create modern Nepal but still retain their individual characters.
