Nar Phu Valley Trekking

Nar Phu Valley TrekkingNar Phu Valley located in the remote corner of the Annapurna circuit trek Manang. Is perfect for travelers who want to discover the Annapurna circuit as well as explore an untouched Nar Phu valley. Nar Phu trek takes you to the exotic. The route opened to visitors only in 2003, the Nar and Phu valley remains untouched by modernity. The inhabitants, who roughly comprises of about 350 Nepalese indo Tibetans, have retained their age old practices. Most of them are engaged in yak herding and farming. This trek also offers fantastic views of the Annapurna massif, Lamjung, Machhapuchhre, Manaslu, Dhawalagiri range and Tilicho peak. Narphu Vally Trekking leads to a hidden valley, where historically the local people used make their living through salt trading with Tibet, but now since the Nepal Government closed border with Tibet the people depend on livestock. The tortuous path leading from the valley into Tibet had never made them dependant on the salt trade, and till today, yak herding is the basis of their livelihood. This exotic land offers medieval Tibetan culture in undisturbed form, dramatic mountain views and great alpine scenery in a Tibet-like flavor. On the second phase of the trek we visit the pristine Tilicho lake the, highest places lake in the world. This amazing trek is for those real adventurers in search of real shangri la and do not mind crossing through Challenging high passes Masokanto La (5099m), Kangla pass (5200m) & Tilicho Pass (5230m). We start our trek from Bensisahar following the Popular Annapurna circuit trail and branch off at Koto to follow off the beaten track to Nar Phu valley. With slow ascent and proper acclimatization we head for Kangla pass, hidden by swirls of mountain mist ahead of us, from Kangla pass at 5200m the magnificent panorama view of Annapurna massif appears remote and forbidding .The Kangla pass links Nar with Manang and three other Bhotia villages in the Neyshang valley. When they reach in Manang village we follow the trail and continue to Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto Pass (5099m) to Jomsom and after arriving at Manang village, some trekkers continue trekking on to Annapurna circuit cross Thorung La Pass (5416m) and finished their treks in Jomsom followeded by a flight to Pokhara. The trek to the Nar Phu valley required special trekking permit.
